Testimonials:
I've been involved with theater all of my life,
and
by the time I arrived at the Teen
Shakespeare Workshop in the summer of 2008, I had formed what I thought
was a
concrete notion about technique and who I was as an actor. My summer at AMS
shattered
all perceptions I had of myself and of my connections with other people, both
on and off
stage. The relationships I formed with my peers are ones that I will
have for the rest of my
life, and the depth with which we came to understand each other within those
three short
weeks was truly extraordinary. During AMS, I learned how to interact
with the world around
me, and found myself as an actor and in many ways as a person; the experiences
I had and
the knowledge I gained there will continue to influence my life for
much time to come.
~
Meg Gilbert, Summer 2008
My
Imagination awoke,
I lived in my body,
rather than merely controlling it, delved deeper
into my heart, felt the invisible network of energy between people,
learned new ways of
viewing a character, fell in love with the world. I count the
Teen Summer Shakespeare
Intensive
as the best, most lived three weeks of my
life.
